What Information FurReal Friends Interactive Pets Collects

We gather information in three ways to help us operate our interactive pet showcase and improve your experience exploring FurReal companions.

Information you provide directly: When you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us with questions about interactive dogs, cats, unicorns, or any of our featured animatronic pets, you share details like your name, email address, and the content of your message. We only collect what you voluntarily submit through forms on our site.

Information collected automatically: Like most websites, we automatically gather technical data when you browse our FurReal Friends collection pages. This includes your device type, browser version, IP address, referring website, pages visited on our site, time spent viewing specific interactive pet categories (whether you lingered on our dogs collection or explored our unicorns section), and general location data (country and state level, never your exact address). We use this to understand which FurReal products resonate most with visitors and how people navigate between our puppies, kittens, and magical creatures.

Information from third parties: As an Amazon Associate, we receive data from Amazon when you click our product links — specifically, confirmation that a click occurred and whether a purchase followed (though Amazon never shares your personal purchase details with us, only aggregated performance metrics). We also use Google Analytics to track site usage patterns across our interactive pets showcase.

02

How We Use Your Information at FurReal Friends Interactive Pets

Every piece of data we collect serves a specific purpose in helping us showcase FurReal’s lifelike interactive companions more effectively:

  • To send you our newsletter: If you subscribe, we’ll email you about new FurReal product releases, interactive pet care tips, and featured animatronic animals from our collection — always with an unsubscribe option.
  • To respond to your inquiries: When you ask us which interactive dog might suit a toddler or how a particular FurReal unicorn’s features compare to another model, we use your contact information solely to reply.
  • To improve our site structure: Usage data tells us if visitors searching for interactive monkeys are finding our monkeys category easily, or if they’re getting lost between our pandas and tigers pages — insights that guide our navigation improvements.
  • To understand product interest: Click patterns reveal which FurReal pets generate the most curiosity (do more people explore Butterscotch Pony or Maggie the Cow?) so we can feature high-interest interactive animals more prominently.
  • To fulfill our Amazon affiliate relationship: Click and conversion data helps us assess which FurReal products our audience connects with, ensuring we highlight the interactive pets that actually resonate rather than generic selections.
  • To comply with legal obligations: If required by law enforcement or court order, we’ll provide requested information — though as an informational showcase for interactive pets, such requests are exceptionally rare.

We never sell your personal information to third parties. We never use your data to create invasive ad profiles across the internet. Our focus stays on helping you discover the right FurReal interactive companion.

03

Cookies and Tracking Technologies on Our Interactive Pets Site

We use several types of cookies to make your visit smoother and to understand how people explore our FurReal Friends collection:

Essential cookies: These keep our site functioning — remembering if you’ve dismissed a notification banner, maintaining session data as you move from our dogs category to our cats collection. You can’t disable these without breaking basic site functionality.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): These track which interactive pet pages receive the most attention, how long visitors spend reading about specific FurReal animals, and what paths people take through our site (do they land on our homepage and then explore puppies, or do they arrive directly at a specific product like Biscuit My Lovin’ Pup?). This data is anonymized and helps us organize our interactive pets showcase more logically.

Advertising and affiliate cookies (Amazon Associates): When you click a product link to Amazon, cookies track that click so Amazon can credit us with any resulting purchase. These cookies also help Amazon show you relevant ads for FurReal products you’ve shown interest in, though we don’t control Amazon’s advertising practices — their privacy policy governs that separately.

Managing cookies: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings menu. Blocking all cookies will prevent affiliate tracking and analytics but may also disrupt your browsing experience on our site (certain features might not load properly). You can typically choose to block only third-party cookies while allowing our essential first-party cookies. For detailed instructions, search “[your browser name] cookie settings” or visit your browser’s help documentation.

04

How FurReal Friends Interactive Pets Shares Your Data

We share information only with specific partners who help us operate this interactive pets showcase:

Service providers: Our email service provider (if you subscribe to our newsletter) processes your email address to send you FurReal product updates. Our web hosting company stores the data that makes our site accessible. Google (through Analytics) receives anonymized usage data about how visitors navigate our interactive pets collection. Each of these providers is contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the specific service they perform for us.

Amazon (affiliate partner): When you click our links to FurReal products on Amazon, they receive information about that click — including referral data that tells them you came from our site. Amazon then tracks whether you purchase that interactive pet (or any other product during that session) to calculate our commission. We don’t receive your Amazon account details or purchase specifics; Amazon simply confirms “a purchase occurred” in aggregate reporting.

Legal requirements: If a court order, subpoena, or valid government request compels us to disclose information, we’ll comply — though we’d first assess whether the request is legally sound and, where possible, notify affected users (unless prohibited from doing so). As a content site about interactive pets, such scenarios are highly unlikely.

Business transfers: If FurReal Friends Interactive Pets were acquired by another company or merged with another organization, your information would transfer to the new entity — they’d be bound by the same privacy commitments outlined here unless they provided clear notice of changes and obtained consent where required.

We never sell your email address to marketing lists. We never share your personal details with unrelated third parties for their own promotional purposes. Your data stays within the narrow circle of partners essential to running this interactive pets showcase.

05

Data Security Measures for FurReal Friends Visitors

We protect your information using industry-standard security practices appropriate for a content and affiliate site:

Our website uses HTTPS encryption, meaning data transmitted between your browser and our server (like when you submit a contact form or newsletter signup) is encrypted in transit. Our hosting provider maintains secure servers with firewall protection and regular security updates. Access to any stored personal information (email subscriber lists, contact form submissions) is restricted to authorized personnel only and protected by strong passwords.

That said, no internet transmission is ever 100% secure. While we implement reasonable safeguards for a site focused on showcasing interactive pets, we can’t guarantee absolute security. If you’re sharing sensitive information unrelated to FurReal products (which our forms never request — we don’t ask for payment details, social security numbers, or similarly sensitive data), consider whether email or web forms are appropriate channels.

If we ever detect a data breach affecting personal information, we’ll notify affected users promptly and report to relevant authorities as required by law — though our minimal data collection (primarily email addresses and usage analytics) significantly limits exposure compared to e-commerce or financial sites.

06

Your Privacy Rights When Exploring Interactive Pets

Different laws give you different rights depending on where you live. Here’s what applies to you as a visitor to our FurReal Friends showcase:

Rights for All Users

Regardless of location, you can unsubscribe from our newsletter anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. You can also contact us directly to request we stop emailing you about FurReal product updates.

GDPR Rights (European Union Visitors)

If you’re browsing from the EU, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, request deletion (the “right to be forgotten”), restrict how we process your data, object to our processing, and receive your data in a portable format. You also have the right to withdraw consent for data collection at any time (though this won’t affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before you withdrew consent). To exercise any GDPR right, email us at the address below with “GDPR Request” in the subject line.

CCPA/CPRA Rights (California Residents)

California law gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, the sources we collect it from, our business purposes for collecting it, and the third parties we share it with. You can request we delete your personal information (with certain exceptions, like data we must retain for legal compliance). You have the right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information — though we don’t sell data in the traditional sense, California law might classify our Amazon affiliate relationship as a “sale,” so we honor opt-out requests. You can exercise these rights without facing discrimination (we won’t deny you service or charge different prices based on privacy requests). California residents also have the right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain.

VCDPA (Virginia), CPA (Colorado), CTDPA (Connecticut), and UCPA (Utah) Rights

If you live in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah, you have the right to confirm whether we’re processing your personal data and access that data. You can correct inaccuracies, delete your data, obtain a copy in a portable format (if technically feasible), and opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale” of your data (again, our Amazon affiliate links might qualify under these laws’ broad definitions). These states also give you the right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects — though as a content site about interactive pets, we don’t engage in profiling that would trigger this right.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Send an email to the contact address listed at the end of this policy with “Privacy Rights Request” in the subject line. Include your name, the email address associated with any account or subscription, your state or country of residence, and the specific right you’re exercising (access, deletion, opt-out, etc.). We’ll respond within 30-45 days depending on your location’s law and the complexity of your request. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests — this protects your privacy by ensuring we don’t disclose your data to someone else or delete information based on a fraudulent request.

If you’re unhappy with our response to a privacy request, EU visitors can lodge a complaint with their national data protection authority, and residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws can contact their state attorney general’s office.

07

Children’s Privacy and FurReal Interactive Pets

FurReal Friends products bring joy to children, but our website itself is not directed at anyone under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Our newsletter signup and contact forms are intended for parents, guardians, and adult collectors interested in interactive pets — not for children themselves.

If you’re a parent and discover your child under 13 has somehow submitted personal information to us (perhaps by filling out a form without your knowledge), contact us immediately. We’ll delete that information from our records promptly. Under COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), we’re required to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal data from children under 13, and since we don’t have mechanisms to obtain such consent, we simply don’t collect data from that age group.

If you’re under 13, please don’t sign up for our newsletter or submit any forms on this site. Ask a parent or guardian to explore our FurReal Friends showcase with you and handle any communication with us on your behalf.

08

Third-Party Links on Our Interactive Pets Showcase

Our site links to Amazon product pages for every FurReal interactive pet we feature — Butterscotch Pony, Maggie the Cow, Biscuit My Lovin’ Pup, and dozens more. When you click those links, you leave our site and enter Amazon’s ecosystem. Amazon has its own privacy policy governing how they collect, use, and protect your information during browsing and purchasing. We don’t control Amazon’s practices and aren’t responsible for their data handling.

We may also occasionally link to other resources (manufacturer sites, care guides, related interactive toy information) for context. Each of those sites operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external site before sharing personal information there.

Linking to a third-party site doesn’t imply we endorse their privacy practices — it simply means we think the destination has relevant information for someone exploring FurReal interactive pets.

09

International Data Transfers for FurReal Friends Visitors

FurReal Friends Interactive Pets operates from the United States. If you’re visiting from the European Union, United Kingdom, or another region with data protection laws that differ from U.S. law, understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. U.S. data protection laws may not be as comprehensive as those in your jurisdiction.

By using our site — whether you’re browsing our interactive dogs collection from Germany or exploring our unicorns category from Australia — you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S. and its processing according to this privacy policy. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives adequate protection consistent with this policy, but we operate under U.S. legal frameworks.

EU visitors specifically: we don’t currently participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or other formal transfer mechanisms, but we honor GDPR rights as outlined in section 06 above and work with service providers who commit to protecting your data appropriately.

10

How Long We Keep Your Data About Interactive Pets Browsing

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

Newsletter subscriber data: We keep your email address and subscription preferences until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Once you opt out, we remove you from active mailing lists within 10 business days (though backup systems might retain the data for up to 90 days before complete deletion).

Contact form submissions: Messages sent through our contact forms are retained for two years to reference past conversations (for example, if you email us again with a follow-up question about the same FurReal product). After two years, we delete these records unless a specific inquiry requires longer retention for legal or operational reasons.

Analytics data: Google Analytics retains aggregated usage data (page views, session duration, traffic sources to our interactive pets showcase) for 26 months by default. This data is anonymized and helps us identify long-term trends in how people discover FurReal products.

Server logs: Technical logs containing IP addresses and access records are kept for 90 days for security monitoring and troubleshooting, then automatically deleted.

If you request deletion of your data under CCPA, GDPR, or another privacy law, we’ll honor that request within the timeframes specified by applicable law (typically 30-45 days) except where retention is required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our terms.

11

Email Communications from FurReal Friends Interactive Pets

We only send marketing emails to people who explicitly subscribe to our newsletter. If you check the box to receive updates about new FurReal product launches, interactive pet care tips, or featured animatronic animals from our showcase, you’ll hear from us — typically no more than twice monthly.

Every email includes a clear unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking that link removes you from our mailing list immediately (though it may take up to 10 business days for you to stop receiving emails if one was already queued when you unsubscribed). You can also email us directly to request removal.

We’ll never sell your email address to third parties or share it with unrelated companies for their own marketing. The only “marketing” emails you’ll receive from us are our own newsletters about the interactive pets we feature — not promotions from external brands or unrelated products.

Transactional emails (like a confirmation when you first subscribe, or a direct reply to a question you sent via our contact form) aren’t marketing communications. You can’t opt out of transactional messages because they’re necessary to the service you requested.

12

Do Not Track Signals and FurReal Friends

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal that tells websites you prefer not to be tracked across sites. There’s no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT signals, and different sites handle them differently.

Currently, we don’t alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals. Whether your browser sends a DNT signal or not, we collect the same analytics data and use the same affiliate tracking cookies described in section 03 of this policy. The tracking we do (Google Analytics, Amazon affiliate cookies) is standard for informational and affiliate sites — we’re not building invasive profiles or following you across unrelated websites.

If you want to limit tracking on our site, your best option is to block third-party cookies through your browser settings (see section 03 for details) or use browser extensions designed to block analytics and advertising trackers. Those tools give you more control than DNT signals, which many sites ignore or don’t recognize.

13

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our practices evolve, new privacy laws take effect, or we add features to our FurReal Friends Interactive Pets showcase. When we make changes, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.

Significant changes — like adopting a fundamentally different data collection model or sharing your information with new categories of third parties — will be announced through a prominent notice on our homepage and (for newsletter subscribers) via email. Minor updates (clarifying wording, adding a newly enacted state privacy law to section 06, technical corrections) may happen without special notification beyond the updated date stamp.

Your continued use of our site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you disagree with updated terms, you should stop using our site and (if subscribed) unsubscribe from our newsletter. We won’t apply material changes retroactively to data collected before the change without your explicit consent.

We recommend checking this page periodically if you’re a regular visitor exploring our interactive pets collection — especially if you live in a jurisdiction with evolving privacy laws. Staying informed about how we handle your data helps you make educated decisions about your privacy.
